Wenzel Tents

Hermann Wenzel started testing methods of sewing and treating canvas around the late eighteen hundreds. Through much research he vastly improved the wagon covers and stockmen’s tarps which he sold in his store. Tents have been around for several decades now and Wenzel Tents are a very familiar brand in America. They also make camp chairs, outdoor lighting, sleeping bags and mats. Their range is not large, but they do cater to the large families for camping and backpackers.

One of Wenzel tents is the Ponderosa. It measures ten feet by eight feet, and actually has two rooms in it. It has a floor of rugged polyethylene for long time wear. It can sleep four to five people, it has two windows, a front and back that are hooded to allow the fresh air to flow there. Then can be closed in case of rain or cold weather.

There are also two large roof vents, but these cannot be closed. The rain fly is coated polyester and will not sag in the heavy downpours and resists the sun rays. The doors of the Wenzel Tents Ponderosa also have two doors for easy in and out. The frame is made of fiberglass, pegs are steel and weighs about ten pounds give or take a few ounces.

Another Wenzel tent is the Family Dome Tent Grand Pass. The features are nice as it has mesh walls made out of polyester, the fly is polyester taffeta. Two Dutch “D” style windows, they actually look like the letter D. it sleeps seven nicely, and it comes with the frame, guy ropes, stakes, tent, and fly and divider curtains. It weighs around twenty four pounds and is about one hundred and seventy feet round.

One of Wenzel tents is the large family cabin tent, resembling a very small cabin. There re three dividers so you can make up three separate rooms. There is up to one hundred and sixty square feet of space, so there is plenty of room to move around in. The front and rear doors have zippers.

There are also four large windows to see out of when you have to be in the tent. There are storm flaps on all four windows, in case of heavy rain or wind. One thing really nice about the Wenzel tents type is it has ‘no see um’ mesh screens, people cannot see in the tent. It has a large front awing so you can sit outside without the sun beating down on you.

Kids love to camp outside, usually in the back yards. Boys and girls love to go out there with a friend and spend the night. Wenzel Tents has just the tent for them. If a bit older they can even learn to put the tent up themselves, though usually mom or dad finishes it for them.

The Wenzel Tents for kids has shock corded poles and a polyester fly for easy set up.  It sleeps only two children but that is usually the amount for the famous sleep over’s anyway. It has two windows and a roof vent for air movement. Only one door and the floor are welded and are made of durable 1000D polyethylene. This tent is almost kid proof so you do not have to worry so much about spills, rips and tears.
